The Japanese Head Spa originates from the traditional Ayurvedic medicine of India. Its main focuses are three key elements: scalp cleansing, massage, and hair repair. By applying the correct products and performing acupuncture point massage on the scalp, the practice promotes scalp relaxation while gently balancing and cleansing dirt, oils, product build-up, and aging skin cells.

Skin renewal takes approximately 28 days. With age, it takes longer to renew a cell as there is more build up of dead skin cells on the scalp. Cleansing the scalp removes dead skin cells and product build up that your regular shampoo cannot remove. Loosening a tight scalp helps promote blood circulation which soothes itching, irritation, and prevents hair loss.

Additionally, massaging pressure points on the scalp can improve blood flow to hair follicles, encouraging hair growth, relieving fatigue, and reducing headaches. The condition of a person’s hair is in direct correlation of the health of their scalp, which is why it is important to take care of your scalp as well as your hair.

Exfoliating Head Spa Treatment

After a thorough analysis of the scalp, I will customize a scalp treatment based on your needs. This will include a deep cleansing and exfoliation of the scalp, an accupressure point scalp massage that will help stimulate blood circulation and nourish the roots, and a steaming.
